Mirapoint Clients to Move to Other Mail Servers

Due to repeated software crashes on the Mirapoint server, IT has advised the UD community that they will retire the Mirapoint server. A timeline for this retirement has not been announced but clients are being migrated as quickly as possible. For those clients in CEHD who use Mirapoint, OET will assist in your mail migration.  The Office of Educational Technology will request that IT automatically migrate your mail to either the Google Apps or Win Exchange server as appropriate.  After the migration is complete, you will either read your mail on the Google Apps or Win Exchange servers.  In addition, OET will configure any mail applications that you use such as Mac Mail, Thunderbird, or Outlook and your mobile devices such as tablets or smart phones.

To find out whether you are a Mirapoint client, log onto the network page.  Under account information, if you see “Your UD email system: Google Apps,” then you do not need to migrate.  If under account information, it says, “Your UD email system: Mirapoint,” then click on the link below that, “Forward your mail to a non UD account.”   If you are forwarding to a Win Exchange address (e.g., yourname@win.udel.edu), then you won’t need to migrate.  If you are forwarding to any other account or if you are not forwarding at all, then you will need to migrate.  If you are unsure about your mail status, or to set up a mail migration, contact OET.
