Dell Offers Potential Savings to You
Dell is winding up third quarter business and they would like to drive incremental sales. If you would like to purchase multiple Dell laptops, desktops, or mobile devices by October 23, our Dell reps will present the quotes to their finance team for aggressive pricing. Contact OET for device recommendations and quotes.
OET Passwords Set to Expire Annually
Passwords for the OET network have been set to expire annually on a staggered basis by unit. This requirement will limit the length of exposure, if an unauthorized source obtains your password. You will receive a notification when you log onto your computer or access your shared drive, when it’s necessary to change your password. To avoid any downtime, we recommend changing your password before then, at your convenience, if you haven’t done so recently. Directions on how to change your password are on OET’s site or contact OET.
UDelNet Passwords Set to Expire
Beginning this fall, IT will enforce the expiration of UDelNet passwords that are 15 months old or older to improve security. When you log in to a UD service protected by the Central Authentication System (CAS), you will see an additional screen prompting you to change your password.
In October, if you have an expiring password, you will see a screen inviting you to change your password. Soon after October, if you have an expiring password, you will see a screen that requires you to change your password.
If you have your UDelNet password saved in an app, after you change your UDelNet password, you will need to log in using your new password on your devices. If you use Google Apps for email and do not use your UDelNet password for the Gmail IMAP client, you will not need to change your random IMAP password.
If you have an expiring password, we suggest you change your password now from the invitation screen or by going to My UD Settings.
Further information on expiring passwords is available from UDaily.
