Sakai to Retire December 2018
Canvas will become UD’s lone learning management system (LMS) when Sakai retires December 21, 2018. Canvas offers increased accessibility and security, a larger toolset, and compatibility with mobile devices and most web browsers.
For faculty and staff who use Sakai for projects and courses, there is a Transition 2 Canvas website that features the rationale behind the move, how to migrate files from Sakai project and course sites, and alternatives to Sakai and Canvas.
We will schedule a consultation with Faculty Commons staff for CEHD in the coming months. For more information on the move to Canvas, visit UDaily. If you have questions regarding migrating your files from Sakai, contact OET.
Phase II of 2017 Secure UD Training Slated for October
Phase II of Secure UD, a self-paced security awareness training for faculty and staff, will be released next month. Secure UD features short videos, usually two to five minutes in length, followed by quizzes and supplemental resources that highlight data security topics such as password protection and digital citizenship.
Look for an email announcement from noreply@securingthehuman.org to announce the new module’s availability. Phase I is currently available for those who still need to complete it. Unit heads can write to secadmin@udel.edu to request a report of Phase I completion for their unit.
